BPCL, Illios Power 15 MW

Information of the project

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, (BPCL) a major Public Sector Undertaking intends to set up two Floating Solar PV Power Projects at its Kochi Refinery.

BPCL-Kochi Refinery has large water bodies inside Kochi Refinery and its Shore Tank Farm at Puthuvype, Kochi as detailed below

1. Rain Water Harvesting Pond of approximate size 18 Acres inside Kochi Refinery. Estimated capacity is 4.6 MW DC/3.2 MW AC. Power evacuation through internal electrical grid of Kochi Refinery for internal consumption without export to external grid
2. Water bodies of approximate total area 14 Acres inside Shore Tank Farm (STF) of Kochi Refinery. This location is nearly 20 km away from the above site. Estimated capacity is 5.2 MW DC/3.7 MW AC. Electricity generated will be consumed internally at STF utilizing the Banking facility of Kerala State Electricity Board (export to external grid is involved with export limiter limiting power export to 3.33 MVA).
